Warning! Google tool bar! - If you have installed the Google Tool Bar on your computer, you MUST turn off the pop-up blocker in order to open the Image Upload screen.
IF you have Pop-up blocker software loaded on your PC, the NPS Focus Image Upload window may not open.
To determine if your computer will prevent the NPS Focus Image Upload window from opening, click on:
If a new browser window opens, STOP here. Everything will work fine.
If a new browser window does NOT open then you will need to configure the software to allow http://npsfocus.nps.gov by:

On Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu, point to Pop-up Blocker, and then click Pop-up Blocker Settings
In the Address of Web Site to Allow box, type in http://npsfocus.nps.gov and click on ADD

At present, NPS Focus technical staff do not have access to any of the Pop-up blocker software being used in the parks. We will add information here as we are able to acquire it from staff in the field.
Pop-up blocker software doesn't just stop those annoying pop-up boxes when Web surfing, it may stop any window from opening.
NPS Focus opens a new window for uploading images so that a user can continue creating and editing records in their main browser window while images upload in the background. If NPS Focus did not separate these two steps then a user would have to wait for all images to upload (5-45 minutes) before he/she can begin creating another metadata record.
