Why does NPS Focus Open a New Window for Image Upload?

Pop-up blocker software doesn't just stop those annoying pop-up boxes when Web surfing, it may stop any window from opening.

NPS Focus opens a new window for uploading images so that a user can continue creating and editing records in their main browser window while images upload in the background. If NPS Focus did not separate these two steps then a user would have to wait for all images to upload (5-45 minutes) before he/she can begin creating another metadata record.
