DjVu is an electronic image format used to create and deliver text
documents. DjVu files are highly
compressed and served using both client and server caching. Pages are streamed
one at a time as they are requested, so documents are fast
loading and the first page is available within seconds.
DjVu is similar to Adobe Acrobat's more widely recognized PDF format.
However, DjVu delivers document images with higher quality and a much
smaller file size. This makes documents easier to store,
distribute and view. Click here for technical details of the DjVu format.
